While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Nickname or display name
  • Account identifiers (e.g., Apple ID, Google Account ID)

1.2 Usage Data

We may also collect information that your mobile device sends whenever you use our Service ("Usage Data"). This includes:

  • Device identifiers (UDID, AAID)
  • Operating system version and device model
  • App usage statistics (session length, focus history, spirit growth progress)
  • Performance data and crash reports

1.3 Screen Time and System APIs

Sanctuary utilizes system level APIs (such as Apple’s Family Controls / Screen Time API) to provide focus-management features.

  • iOS: We use Screen Time APIs to manage app restrictions during focus sessions. We do not receive specific data about which apps you use or your private activity. All processing is handled securely by iOS.
  • Android: We may use Accessibility Services or Usage Stats to monitor and encourage focus sessions.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service;
  • To notify you about changes to our Service;
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service;
  • To provide customer support;
  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service;
  • To monitor the usage of our Service;
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues;
  • To synchronize your focus progress across your various devices.

3. Data Transfer and Storage

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed and stored on servers provided by our cloud infrastructure partners (specifically Supabase). We implement robust technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

4. Disclosure of Data

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose your data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We employ third-party companies (e.g., Google Analytics for Firebase, RevenueCat for subscription management) to facilitate our Service. These parties have access to your data only to perform these tasks on our behalf.
  • Legal Requirements: If required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

5. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

7. Data Deletion and Account Removal

You can delete your account and all associated personal data directly within the Settings menu of the Sanctuary app. Alternatively, you may contact us via email to request data deletion. Upon request, we will permanently delete your account and focus history from our servers within 30 days.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
